Nato Tskhakaya on Key Issues in the Operation of Personal Funds

On 20 November 2025, a conference on Personal Funds: The Formula for Trust was held with the participation of Contemporary Real Estate Funds, a leading Russian real estate fund manager.
The event was attended by experts, government officials, and business leaders, who discussed key issues related to the regulation of personal funds, including taxation, registration, antitrust, succession planning, business transfer, and asset protection.
Nato Tskhakaya, partner and head of Asari Legal’s regulatory practice, spoke at the session dedicated to the practical aspects of operating personal funds. She highlighted the real-world considerations involved in setting up and running a personal fund from the perspective of competition law, foreign investment control, and special economic measures (counter-sanctions). Nato addressed which transactions or operations of or involving a personal fund may require approval from the relevant government authorities, and what should be taken into consideration to ensure regulatory compliance.
The conference acted as a forum for professionals to share their insights and discuss the current challenges and future direction of how personal funds are regulated in Russia.
