Alexander is a partner in Asari Legal’s Finance practice. He advises Russian and international banks, corporates, and financial institutions on a broad range of financing matters, including structured and syndicated loans, acquisition finance, project finance, asset finance, trade finance, and complex debt restructurings.
In addition, as the former head of the legal department of an Austrian oil trading company, Alexander brings substantial experience in corporate law, compliance, and commercial matters arising in the context of international business operations.

- Russian and foreign lenders and borrowers on restructuring long-term debts that have become difficult or impossible to service due to adverse changes in the external economic environment, including refinancing solutions, creditor and borrower side restructuring, and stockholding restructuring
- Russian and foreign investors on the acquisition (for subsequent restructuring and repayment) of Russian borrowers’ foreign debts affected by post-2022 restrictions
- Russian and foreign lenders and borrowers on complex bilateral and multilateral trade finance arrangements, including advance and deferred payment mechanisms, repurchase obligations (commodity repo), commodity loans, barter structures, joint and several and secondary liability models, and set-off mechanisms
- Russian and foreign finance parties on funding solutions for structured trade finance transactions, including through the issuance of structured notes and third-party debt financing
- Russian and foreign clients on arrangements for profit and risk sharing in joint trade projects (profit sharing agreements)
