Nikolai is an associate in Asari Legal’s Dispute Resolution practice. He focuses on dispute resolution matters, including international commercial arbitration and cross-border court proceedings, as well as corporate disputes. He has experience representing clients in international arbitration under the LCIA and HKIAC Rules, including sanctions-related disputes.
Nikolai’s experience covers handling court disputes in the United Kingdom, EU member states, and other jurisdictions, as well as advising and representing clients in Russian courts in various disputes with a foreign element.

- a leading Russian gas producer in LCIA arbitrations concerning option agreements, with claims totalling EUR 5 billion
- a Russian state corporation in an LCIA arbitration under an ISDA agreement for USD 160 million
- a leading Russian private airline in an HKIAC arbitration under aircraft sale agreements totalling USD 100 million
International Litigation
Coordinating actions of:
- a counsel in Cypriot court proceedings for the recovery of damages in favour of a major Russian energy company
- a counsel in UK court proceedings challenging the jurisdiction of an arbitral tribunal
- a counsel in connection with applications for interim measures in support of state court proceedings in China
Russian litigation
Representing:
- minority shareholders of a major industrial enterprise, in proceedings for the production of documents and subsequent recovery of over RUB 300 million in damages
- a major foreign mining company in claims for the recovery of an unearned advance under a construction contract and subsequent bankruptcy proceedings against the debtor in Russia
