Stepan is a junior associate in Asari Legal’s Dispute Resolution practice. He focuses on international arbitration, international court proceedings and litigation in Russian state commercial arbitrazh courts.
He has experience handling cross-border disputes in the construction and energy sectors, representing clients in multi-jurisdictional inheritance disputes, and assisting with the recognition and enforcement of Russian arbitral awards abroad.

- a major Panamanian company in an ad hoc UNCITRAL arbitration (with CeCAP as the appointing authority) of a EUR 500 million dispute arising out of a debt consolidation agreement
- a Russian airline in a USD 100 million HKIAC arbitration regarding a supply agreement
International litigation
Coordinating actions of:
- a Hong Kong counsel in a dispute arising out of an EPC contract for the construction of a gas processing plant
- a Chinese counsel in proceedings for the recognition and enforcement of a Russian arbitral award in China
Russian litigation
Representing:
- a Swiss financial conglomerate in Russian court proceedings arising out of a loan agreement
- a transnational gas chemical group in a series of disputes arising out of an EPC contract for the construction of a gas processing plant
- an international private bank in a dispute brought by a Russian investor against a European depository in connection with the alleged blocking of assets
- a Dutch financial corporation in a dispute with a Russian bank seeking to recover damages
- a Russian supplier in a dispute arising out of a supply contract for non-metallic construction materials for a spaceport
- Heirs challenging the will of a prominent Russian entrepreneur a Russian railway carrier
- a Russian railway carrier in a staff redundancy dispute
